Investment and commercial arbitrations
We act for corporations, high net worth individuals, sovereign States, and State-owned entities in complex, high-stakes investment and commercial arbitrations. Our lawyers are experienced under all major arbitral rules, including the ICSID, UNCITRAL, and ICC rules, and have appeared in disputes across many sectors and under a wide range of applicable laws, including public international law. We have particular expertise in energy, financial services, and construction, as well as a strong regional focus on the MENA region, Central Europe, and the Balkans.

- Representing Libya in a EUR 183 million ICC construction arbitration filed by Guris Insaat ve Muhendislik under the Turkey-Libya BIT, concluded in favor of Libya
- Representing Canadian and Cyprus investors in a USD 96 million ICSID arbitration against Serbia regarding the expropriation of a dairy farm, concluded in favor of the client
- Representing Kosovo in an ICC investment arbitration against an Estonian company regarding the cancellation of a banking license for breach of prudential regulations, concluded in favor of the client
- Representing Kosovo in its first investment arbitration involving a EUR 380 million claim brought by a German investor under the Germany-Kosovo BIT in connection with the investor’s failed bid to buy Kosovo’s largest telecom provider, concluded in favor of Kosovo
- Representing Libya in two parallel arbitrations under the OIC Agreement and the France-Libya BIT involving claims in excess of USD 1 billion
- Representing Libya in two ICC arbitrations filed under the Turkey-Libya BIT in relation to construction projects halted by the 2011 civil war
- Representing Croatia in an investment arbitration against MOL in connection with the privatization of the oil and gas company INA with claims in excess of USD 1 billion
